Thoughts:  Yet more practice of the Underground's vast, hidden interior. This time we see the vistas punctuated by the figure of an early W. D. Gaster.

While virtually nothing is known of Gaster within the Undertale canon, in my concepts his early years and onward found most of his focus upon the ecology of the Underground and it's sprawling networks of caverns. Though Monsters journeyed out to eventually settle in what would become New Home, the infrastructure to get there was not in place, and Monsters did not stray far into the subterranean reaches, preferring a handful of loosely-knit hamlets alongside the original outer settlements of Snowdin and Waterfall.

Gaster typically travels fully cloaked and clothed, including gloves and partial concealment for his face, despite the fact that temperature doesn't affect him at all - Though here I made an exception so I could work with his visible bone structure, diminutive though he is in the imagery. In other cases, he goes even farther out of his way to conceal the fact that he is a skeleton. In my concepts, being a Monster of that sort comes with certain disadvantages...

Though any Monster could easily observe and understand the workings of the sparse ecosystems around them, Gaster's observations were methodical, keen, and sharp, and went a step past what other researchers and curious minds in the past had done. Well-travelled and adept with his tools (many, of his own unique development), Gaster came to possess an easy grace, strength, and endurance. No small creature escaped his attention (or gentle handling; and sometimes appetite during long travels, if a common specimen), nor plant, soil, water, or mineral.

Countless measures, inferences, and observations found themselves written in a plethora of journals. And over the years, galvanized by a focus past tedium which most others wouldn't bear, Gaster was able to make interesting findings about the state of Monsters and their place underground.

Gaster's place of solace was very distant from Snowdin. The far reaches of the isolated 'underworld' weren't commonly ventured - most monsters, with a heart for kin and community, eyes turned outward against the looming, everpresent shadows, did not easily travel from the mildly-branching path toward New Home. Regardless, Gaster considered those distant, delicate ecologies under his care. In some cases this included the carefully considered planting of vegetation, most notably around his concealed home... A labyrinthe of dense trees in an already distant and darker area of that zone.

Hakuna Matata? Oh, there's a reason for that...

Just as stunning as the first 'set'. :3 Especially the great assets of different angles makes this a wonderful and well-balanced mix of the different scenes.
